TL; DR – Can you believe that the length of the tie can make or break a dress?

I was never happy with the first Belgravia I made. The pattern is fine, I love a good tie at the waist and a v-neck, but…it wasn’t working. I had to give away my first one because my body changed, and I decided to make another one in the more appropriate size. I had this lovely vintage stretch wool from our local buy-nothing group and thought it would be a match made in heaven.

I made it with the long ties again and…didn’t love it at all. Again.

I let it sit for a few weeks and finally decided, you know what? Let’s see what happens if I shorten the ties. So I did, and now I love it.

Weird how that happens.
