TL; DR – Sometimes you have to make something you know will work to get your sewjo back.
As you may have read, October was not a great month. I’ve been disappointed with the fit of my last few garments, so i really wanted to make something that would be an easy win. I had these plaid flannel sheets that I got from the local buy-nothing group, and had wanted to make something for the fall season. I settled on the Lilja shirt dress hack I had made out of lighter, more summer material to much success.
I did French seams this time around, and thought some heavier-duty snaps would look great. And I was right!
I’m really happy with how it turned out, and this is a much-needed win (not to mention some much-needed time in my sewing room without having to take care of a kid or dog). Next step is to figure out how to make a sleeve with shirt-cuffs. I’m sure it won’t be that hard, but I need a little more confidence and patience.
