Mary Quant Mini-Dress, Take 6, for #sewfrugal23

TL; DR – This works fantastic with a stable knit, maybe reprinting it in a larger size isn’t so bad after all

Last year I made 10 dresses in the month of March for #sewfrugal22. This year, I barely made one. Two, I guess, if you count adding fabric strips to last year’s Mary Quant Mini-Dress that no longer fit. I guess. I’ll enter it on instagram tomorrow and write it up. It’s hard to talk about.

This is yet ANOTHER Mary Quant Mini-Dress, this time made from custom knit fabric. Because it’s knit, I didn’t need the zipper at the neck, but I still wanted the collar. I had to reprint the pattern to the largest size, and it’s quite comfortable in this knit print.

The print? BABY-SITTER CLUB BOOK COVERS. I am a part of a group, the Data-Sitters Club, and we all got or made a custom garment with the fabric. This dress made so many people smile, I stopped caring what size I had to make it in.

I don’t think I’d make it in a jersey or lighter knit, but a solid ponte or knit like this is perfect for this pattern.
