Pattern Review: Vera Dress by Ploen Patterns

TL; DR – Pattern testing is fun! Sometimes you need a bottom ruffle

Another pattern I tested: the new extended sizes for the Vera dress and top from Ploen Patterns. I really love testing patterns when the pattern designer is working to extend the size-range because I want to support these efforts. I made the dress out of a sheet set I got ages ago from Costco that were the wrong size for my son’s bed. I did the simplest version of this dress, without the fancy sleeves and no bottom ruffle.

I should have added the ruffle.

The facing is done in a really cleaver way that took a little thinking on my part, but that probably isn’t the fault of the pattern, but my own inability to understand directions and interpret 2D pictures. I also took the top finished edge of the sheet and made it into a tie, because I love a good tie-waist look.

Overall, if you love this style of sleeve, I highly recommend this pattern!
