Pattern Review: QUINCY by TAUKO Magazine

TL; DR – Boobyliscious.

I’ve been a reader of TAUKO Magazine since the beginning. I loved the layout, I loved the themes, I loved the patterns.

Except…I cannot for the life of me figure out to to trace the damn patterns that are all overlapping and I just go cross-eyed.

So when I saw a call for pattern testers/promoters for their next issue, I was THRILLED. I ended up making the QUINCY, a lovely shirt-dress (I love me some shirt-dresses) out of a very light denim. I really appreciated the pleating detail, decided to make a front, instead of side zipper, and chose the midi length.

I’m really please with how it turned out. The directions were easy enough to follow, it’s the simplest notch collar I’ve done, and any error in the zipper is mine. But, and you can see it in the picture, it is REALLY low cut. Like, you can see my bra in this picture low-cut.

I want to make it again and figure out how to raise the plunge line (in the FB group for the makes, I’ve seen it done), because it’s a super simple, but satisfying make with the collar and pleat details making it special.
