Rowan Dress, Take 2

TL; DR – Much simpler when you don’t line it!

I made a Rowan Dress SOOOOOO long ago. It was one of the early dresses where oh, wait, I have to figure out how to line something and do a hidden zipper? OOPS.

I started teaching undergrads again, and I, of course, needed a new first day of school dress. I got this old shower curtain with a cute pattern from the buy-nothing group and had some left-over back denim for the contrast trim. Because the cotton is so thick I decided not to line it; I finished the neckline with bias tape, and the hem with a stitch-in-the-ditch. I added these sleeve caps and finished them, again, with bias tape.

And it is ADORABLE. I love it so much. It’s a larger size that the first one I made, but it’s still a great semi-fitted dress.
