Pattern Review: Leah Jumpsuit from Fibre Mood

TL; DR – Why can’t I still figure out how to do zippers?

Y’all know I love jumpsuits. But I had yet to make a proper boiler suit or flight suit type jumpsuit. I have had the Leah jumpsuit from Fibre Mood for a while now, and finally got around to making it with a needle cord fabric I found for sale online.

It’s a straightforward enough pattern, except for putting in the zipper, but seeing as how I have NEVER been able to properly put a zipper in to any pattern with a zipper that I’ve sewn would lead me to believe it’s fully user error and not the pattern’s fault.

Anyway, make sure that you’re using the right needle for this project (well, really any project) because there are a number of moments where you are going to be going through many, many layers of fabric. Because I chose a heavier fabric, there were points where I was forcing the needle through, even though I was using a denim needle. Apparently, I needed a heavier one.

I’m not sure if I like how I look in a boiler suit? Maybe I’m just not used to it. If it grows on me, I’ll definitely make this again. If not, well, Zadie is always a winner!
