Pattern Review: LUMI Top from Tauko

TL; DR – Sometimes you gotta just do what feels right.

I once again was invited to do a make and share for Tauko Magazine, issue 12. I chose the LUMI top, which is supposed to be a sweatshirt. It’s a million degrees here and the last thing I wanted was a sweatshirt. I also didn’t really have the right fabric. But I did have a yard and a bit of this lovely burgundy linen blend…

So I made it out of a woven material, omitted the sleeves and finished it with bias tape rather than ribbed cuffs! And I love it! It has such an interesting shape, which elevates it from being just a plain woven top.

It was simple to make and didn’t take much fabric. It’s definitely a new scrap-busting top!
