TL; DR – Easier than you would think, especially because there is a sew-a-long video.

I have been following Mimi G for a while now, basically since I started sewing a few short years ago. She has made it her life’s work to diversify the Big Three patterns (although I have no idea where burda fits in to that, so…), both in terms of designers and in terms of size. Finished garment measurements? YES PLEASE!

Anyway, they gave her her own pattern line, so now it’s the Big Four, and Know Me by Mimi G was born.

All of the patterns are from indie pattern designers and sewists, most of them are very size inclusive, and all of them have sew-a-long videos that you can access easily through a QR code on the pattern envelope. And when Simplicity.com (where you can get all of the Big Four or Whatever patterns in one place) not only had a sale, but also offered free shipping, I stocked up. One of them was the ME2008 jumpsuit pattern by Handmade Millennial.

Just when I think that I don’t need anymore jumpsuit patterns, I realize that I need another jumpsuit pattern.

I’ve had this deep green floral pattern that screams CHRISTMAS!!! that I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with it. And then I decided I needed a Christmas jumpsuit, and then I decided I didn’t want to make a jumpsuit I had already made. And THEN I decided that it was finally time to make a Know Me pattern.

The video helped me with the front twist and waist gather, and everything else was really straightforward. I wish that I had realized that it was a back zipper sooner, so I could move it to the side seam, instead of having to ask for help every time I had to go to the bathroom. I’m going to make it again, but with a side-zipper.

Also, someday I’ll do a real hidden zipper, but then again, why does it need to be hidden anyway? Is this like visible panty lines?

Sorry, I’m on vacation and have a lot of time on my hands.
