TL; DR – LOL MASSIVE FAIL BUT TIM GUNN WOULD BE PROUD BECAUSE IT WAS A REAL MAKE IT WORK MOMENT.

You’d think that by now, the third time, it would be a charm. LOL NOPE. So, I ended up sewing the skirt together wrong, attaching the panels middle-middle-side-side instead of side-middle-middle-side. And I only noticed after I had done all the finishings.

And now I have an asymmetrical skirt on the dress.

Thankfully, I made it in the midi-length, so it isn’t too short in the wrong places.

This is a satin-like fabric which WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS. My god, I should have used the fabric stiffener that I bought. And the inside of the dress is a hot mess. But I still love the look of it.

Anyway, just because you made the same garment a number of times, you can still fuck it up in an epic way, but watching a lot of Project Runway means that I can make it work.

This is going to be my last make and thus last post for a while because we just bought a place and will spend the next two months packing and moving, so the time I would usually spend sewing, I need to spend it packing and getting organized, which…

BUT…

I AM GOING TO HAVE MY OWN SEWING ROOM!

Behold the space that will be my office/sewing room! My next post will probably be an unveiling of how I set it all up. And maybe I’ll try to finally figure out how to use my serger.
